Motorola Alert app for Moto E and Moto G LTE alerts loved ones in case of emergency

Yesterday in London, Motorola lifted the lid on the new Moto E, an affordable handset “priced for all,” and the Moto G LTE, a version of the Moto G that supports 4G. Despite being recently unveiled by Lenovo-owned phone maker, apps for the smartphones are already available on Google Play. One of which is a pretty helpful app called “Motorola Alert.” The app alerts loved ones in case of an emergency. Description on Google Play: Motorola Alert lets you quickly alert people important to you when you need them. Simply put your phone on alert, and it will begin sending periodic notifications with your location to the people you designate so they can act fast to get you the help you need. With Motorola Alert you can also set up places such as Home, Work, or School, so that your loved ones can be automatically notified when you leave or arrive. Currently, the app only works on the Moto E and Moto G LTE, but a future update will allow the Moto X and Moto G to use the app as well. Like

Moto E pops up online before official announcement

Motorola is expected to lift the lid on the Moto E in London tomorrow. Despite this, a photo of the handset has surfaced showing it beside the Moto G. The photo was spotted by Android Police on Motorola Mexico’s Facebook page. The photo was posted not by Motorola, but another Facebook user. The Moto E is on the right and the Moto G is on the left. Android Police points out, “One odd thing is the apparent lack of a front-facing camera. The oblong spot next to the earpiece is most likely the light sensor – it’s the same style as the one on other Moto devices. There’s nothing else up there that looks like a camera.” Word on the street is the Moto E will sport a 4.3-inch 720p screen (smaller than the Moto G’s 4.5-inch screen). The Moto G starts at £134.89 in the UK. The Moto E is said to be cheaper. Of course, Motorola is yet to make the Moto E official, so take this with a pinch of salt. However, with Motorola expected to lift the lid on the handset tomorrow, we won’t ha

Motorola Moto E shows up in Indian import-export database

Zauba is an Indian website that lists anything that goes in and out of the country. In the past, yet-to-be-unveiled devices were listed in the site, confirming they do exist and almost making them official. This time, the rumoured Motorola Moto E is listed in the database. According to the listing, there will be three versions of the handset. The XT1021 is a single-SIM version, the XT1022 is a dual-SIM version, while the XT1025 is a dual-SIM version with a digital TV. The listing also gives us an idea on pricing. It says the handsets will range from £77 to £83 in India. Lastly, the listing confirms that the Moto E will come with 4GB if internal storage. This is less than what the Moto G came with, but the Moto E is rumoured to sport a microSD card slot. So you still get to store more. Other rumoured specs include a 4.3-inch 720p screen, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1900mAh battery. It is said to be a mere 6.2mm thick (the Moto G i

Moto Maker website leaks Moto X+1

Last month, rumours claimed that Motorola was planning to lift the lid on the successor of the Moto X called the Moto X+1. It seems the rumours were true as the smartphone has been leaked in Motorola’s Moto Maker website, which was first spotted by PhoneArena. PhoneArena explains, “When you replace the Moto X codename (FLEXR1) in the Moto Maker website address bar with FLEXR2, a placeholder site for the Moto X+1 appears.” Here are the screenshots: Earlier in April, @evleaks said, “Motorola Moto X + 1: coming soon.” It looks like the master leaker was right on the button yet again. So when do we get to see the Moto X+1? Motorola has sent invites for an event in London on the Moto E, which is said to be a new entry-level handset. We may just the X+1 at the event as well. Motorola lifting the lid on the Moto E in London in May 13?

Motorola has sent invitations to press saying, “Connect more people to the world s information and each other, and they can do great things. Introducing the next smartphone from Motorola to make these connections happen. Made to last. Priced for all.” The event will kick off in London on the 13th of May. Unfortunately, the invite doesn’t mention the smartphone Motorola plans to unveil, but word on the street is it will be the Moto E. According to past reports, the Moto E sports a 4.3-inch 720p screen, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 4GB of internal memory, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 1900mAh battery. It is said to be only 6.8mm thick and really cheap. What wasn’t mentioned, however, was connectivity. The Moto G was also very cheap but it didn’t support 4G LTE. We’re hoping this is rectified with the Moto E. Do you think Motorola will lift the lid on the Moto E in London on the 13th of May? Let us know what you think thorough a comment on our Phones LT

Motorola to launch Moto G LTE and Moto G Ferrari?

According to Spanish-speaking Xataka, Motorola is planning to launch two new versions of the Moto G. One will be called “Moto G LTE,” while the other will be called “Moto G Ferrari.” As the name suggests, the Moto G LTE will support LTE connectivity. Other specs include a 4.5-inch 720p screen, 16GB of internal memory, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, and 1GB of RAM. It will run Android 4.4 (KitKat). It is said to cost around £155. Unfortunately, not much is known about the Moto G Ferrari. But, Motorola has launched Ferrari-themed handsets in the past such as the Motorola i867 Ferrari. It came in a red and black colour combination and had the Ferrari logo as well. We’re guessing the Moto G Ferrari will sport a similar theme.
