According to a past report from SamMobile, a site renowned for leaking accurate information on anything Samsung-related, the Korean tech giant is reportedly trimming down on pre-installed apps on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to improve its TouchWiz UI s performance. Microsoft announces there are now over 525,00 apps between Windows and Windows Phone Store
Microsoft has announced that there are now over 525,000 apps between its Windows and Windows Phone Store. According to the software giant, the Windows Phone Store now has around 340,000 apps, while the Windows Store has around 187,000 apps. These figures were gathered as of the 30th of September. This brings the total to over 525,000 apps. The Redmond firm is planning to merge these its two app stores next year once it launches Windows 10. A few months back, the Windows Phone Store only had around 300,000 apps. Although more than half a million apps in its online store is quite an achievement for Windows Phone, it is still nothing compared to more than a million apps in Android s Google Play and Apple s App Store. Last year, Microsoft exec Joe Belfiore said that the Windows Phone Store would close into the app gap with Google Play and the Apple App Store this 2014.
