Apple has recently lifted the lid on their two new iPhones the Apple iPhone 6S and the Apple iPhone 6S Plus. The two are now available for pre-order and will launch in the UK on the 25th of September. However, if a renowned analyst is to be believed, the phablet-sized iPhone 6S Plus will be available in limited quantities upon launch due to supply chain issues. Supply chain issues? The news comes to us courtesy of AppleInsider, who obtained a note to investors from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who is renowned for making accurate predictions on anything Apple-related. Kuo informed investors that the Apple iPhone 6S Plus will be in short supply during its launch on the 25th of September due to issues with Apple s supply chain. According to Kuo, Minbea, Apple s supplier of backlight modules for the iPhone 6S Plus, is currently suffering from bottlenecks, which will result in the phablet s limited stock when launched. Apple iPad Air 2 supply to be limited at launch?
AppleInsider obtained a research note from KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who has proven to make accurate predictions when it comes to anything made by Apple. Kuo believes that the iPad Air 2 s (concept by Martin Hajek shown below) initial supply will be limited, which means you may have to wait longer to get your hands on the new tablet. According to Appleinsider, Out of the products being announced on Thursday, Kuo sees the new iPad Air generating the most interest, but the analyst notes production issues could stymie a massive launch. Poor yield rates associated with the tablet s anti-reflective screen coating have delayed manufacturing, prompting a downgrade in shipments to between 7 and 9 million units, lower than the 12 million units shipped with the first iPad Air last year. This is according to a report from DigiTimes: Makers in the iPhone supply chain are preparing parts and components for production of up to 80 million units of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus before year-end 2014, according to sources at Taiwan-based iPhone supply chain. Apple aims to ship 80 million units of the iPhone 6-series products before the end of 2014, higher than the 60 million units of the iPhone 5 shipped in 2013, the sources indicated. Barring the occurrence of component shortages and low yield rates, shipments of the iPhone 6s should be able to reach 10 million units by the end of September and total 60-70 million in the fourth quarter, the sources estimated.
